Recombinant non-pathogenic polio rhinovirus chimera - by Ms. Samipriya

Updated: May 7, 2023

Greetings of the day

This article is all about the 'POLIO THERAPY' prepared by MS. SAMIPRIYA, Biomedical Trainer, ATHEENAPANDIAN PRIVATE LIMITED

'POLIO THERAPY'

Polio Therapy(PVSRIPO - Recombinant non-pathogenic polio-rhinovirus chimera) for  Malignant   Glioblastoma(GBM)

Malignant   Glioblastoma(GBM)

What is Glioblastoma(GBM)?

Glioblastoma multiform is a kind of malignant brain tumor in adults. Malignant means cancerous. This type of cancer cells are rapidly multiplying. This cancer can spread into other areas of the brain. In some rare cases, the cancer spread outside the brain to the other parts of the body.

brain to the other parts of the body

Symptoms of Glioblastoma:

·         Headache

·         Blurred vision

·         Loss of appetite

·         Nausea and vomiting

·         Vertigo

Which age of people have a glioblastoma?

Glioblastoma mostly affects people in the age of 45 to 70. Mostly it will affect the men and create difficult problems for them.

Diagnostic methods of glioblastoma:

·         MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

·         CT(Computed Tomography)

·         Biopsy(Take the tissue from the tumor cells)

Why Cancer Cells are not killed by the immune System?

Cancer cells form a protective layer on top of them, and the cancer cells are hidden from the immune system. so it cannot be recognized by the immune system.

Cancer cells form a protective layer on top

Therapeutic Method(PVSRIPO):

PVSRIPO(Recombinant non-pathogenic polio-rhinovirus chimera) is a poliovirus treatment for glioblastoma. This poliovirus attaches itself to cancerous cells. These cells have an excess of the CD155 Protein, which acts as a receptor for the polio virus.

Then the polio virus starts to attack the malignant cells, triggering to release of antigens from the tumor and breaking the protective layers of the cancer cells. Antigens are toxic substances that the body cannot recognize, therefore setting off an immune system attack against them.

So when the tumor cells release antigens, this alerts the body’s immune system to start attacking. At the same time, the poliovirus infects the dendritic cells and macrophages. Then cancer cells are continuously vulnerable to immune system attack, and after that tumor cells stop regrowth. Not only poliovirus killing the tumor cells. It is also infecting the antigen-presenting in the cells, then immune cells recognize them and filter the tumor cells.

Benefits of PVSRIPO:

After treatment increase the immune cells

·         After treatment increases the immune cells are increased.

·         The cancer cells cannot grow back.

·         It does not give any side effects.

That is about this article is all about for you.

Thank you

With Best Regards
